Protein-Rich Hair Masks and Their Benefits

Your hair is composed of keratin and chains of amino acids or protein in layman's terms. The constant use of harsh chemicals, as well as frequent contact with heat and pollution, can degrade protein in your hair, leaving it dry, brittle, and damaged. When this happens, the only way to restore your hair's health is to give it back what it has lost.
While there are many different types of protein treatments available in salons, using homemade protein hair packs is much easier and less expensive. These packs repair damaged keratin spots in your hair, making it stronger and healthier without the use of chemicals.
However, before you begin treating your hair with protein, you must first determine if that is what it truly requires. If your hair is dry, hard, and damaged, it is most likely dehydrated and in need of conditioning. If, on the other hand, you've noticed that your hair is stretching, feeling mushy, and breaking while you wash it, it's likely that it's lacking in protein. Protein-rich foods include eggs, yogurt, mayonnaise, avocado, and coconut milk. Here's how you can use them to make some incredible protein-packed hair packs.

Protein Hair Packs Made at Home
1. Hair Pack with Egg-Yogurt

Eggs are high in protein and will leave your hair feeling smooth and shiny. They also aid in hair growth. Yogurt contains probiotics, which can improve hair health. This pack can soften and silken your hair.

Preparation Time
Time limit: 5 minutes

You Will Require
1 egg + 2 tbsp yoghurt

Method
In a mixing bowl, combine the egg and yoghurt to make a smooth paste. (If you have extremely dry hair, use the yolk; if you have oily hair, use the white; and if you have normal or combination hair, use the whole egg.)
Make a paste of the mixture and apply it to your scalp and hair. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes.
Cool water should be used to rinse out the hair pack.
Wash and condition your hair.
This hair pack can be used up to twice a week.

Note: You can add a few drops of any fragrant essential oil, such as lavender, to the hair pack to avoid the smell.

2. Hair Pack with Egg Yolk and Honey

If your hair lacks moisture and protein, this is one of the best hair packs to use. The egg provides protein to your hair, while the almond oil contains essential fatty acids that can help soften it. Honey conditions your hair seals in moisture and helps with conditions such as dandruff and hair loss. It's also a great way to give yourself some natural highlights, thanks to honey's bleaching properties.

Preparation Time
Time limit: 5 minutes

You Will Require
1 yolk of an egg
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon almond oil

Method
In a mixing bowl, combine the ingredients until they form a smooth mixture.
Apply the pack to your hair and leave it on for about 15-20 minutes.
Cool water should be used to rinse the pack.
Shampoo and condition your hair.
This pack can be used up to twice a week.

Note: If you have oily hair, avoid using this hair pack. Do not leave the pack on for more than 20 minutes because honey has bleaching properties that, if left on for too long, can lighten your hair color.

3. Hair Pack with Avocado and Coconut Milk

Coconut milk is high in protein, and avocados are high in vitamins A, B, and E, all of which are essential for hair health. This pack also increases collagen production, which promotes hair growth. Squalene, found in olive oil, conditions your hair, leaving it soft and silky.

Preparation Time
Time limit: 5 minutes

You Will Require
1 avocado, ripe
2 tbsp coconut milk
1 teaspoon olive oil

Method

Mash the avocado until it is smooth and free of lumps.
Mix in the coconut milk and olive oil. Mix until the mixture is smooth.
Make a paste of the mixture and apply it to your scalp and hair.
Allow it to sit for 30 minutes.
Shampoo and condition your hair after you've washed it.

4. Hair Treatment with Coconut Milk

Coconut milk is high in saturated fatty acids as well as vitamins B, C, and E. It conditions your hair while filling in the protein spots that have been damaged. This is also regarded as the best protein treatment for hair because it effectively combats dandruff while promoting healthy hair growth.

Preparation Time
Time limit: 5 minutes

You Will Require
3 tbsp coconut milk

Method

Warm the coconut milk in a small saucepan over low heat for about a minute.
Warm coconut milk should be massaged into your scalp and applied to your hair.
Wrap your hair in a towel and leave the coconut milk on your hair overnight.
The next day, shampoo and condition your hair.

5. Banana-Avocado Hair Treatment

Bananas contain potassium, natural oils, vitamins, and carbohydrates, which nourish, soften, and strengthen your hair. Avocados contain a high concentration of omega-3 fatty acids as well as essential amino acids. These can coat the shaft of your hair, allowing it to retain moisture and texture.

Preparation Time
Time limit: 5 minutes

You Will Require
1 banana, ripe
1 avocado, ripe
1 tablespoon oil from wheat germ
1 teaspoon rose essential oil

Method

Mash the avocado and banana together until no lumps remain. Add the oils to this mixture and thoroughly combine.
Apply this concoction to your hair and leave it on for an hour.
Cool water should be used to rinse the pack.
Shampoo and condition your hair.
This pack should be used once a week. For extremely dry hair, do it twice a week.

Winter is arriving; use these tips to protect your hair and skin from the elements

Winter is adored because it has something enchanting to give everyone, regardless of where they are. People gather in the cold weather because they desire warmth, love, and connection. Vacations, festivals, and weddings necessitate large family feasts and perpetual thanks, and time appears to slow down a little. Not to mention the convenience of combining all of your favourite outfits into one and sipping hot cocoa.
Your skin and hair, on the other hand, despise the cold season and react angrily as soon as it arrives. Summer may be thought to be the worst season for your skin and hair—after all, the sun isn't exactly nice, is it? Summer can be bad for your hair and complexion, but winter isn't good for your body either. Rough, tight skin, chapped lips, brittle nails, and hair that seems like it desperately needs a vacation to some tropical Valhalla are all symptoms of winter dryness. These are common problems at this time of year, and they're not pretty! But what is it that causes them? For starters, a lack of humidity in the air causes your hair and skin to dry out. Furthermore, both the cold outside and the central heat inside drain moisture from strands and pores, leaving hair coarse and skin prickly and dry.
Try these clever skin and hair suggestions to seal in moisture and reverse winter damage when Mother Nature gives you an ice kiss
