A Guide on How to Cut Your Own Hair at Home: 5 Easy Techniques

Cutting split ends:
Start with clean, dry hair.  Divide your hair into small sections and work  one section at a time. Gently twist each section  to identify cracks. Carefully cut the split ends with sharp  scissors, removing only a small amount at a time.  Repeat this process for each section, making sure you cut evenly.

Blunt cut:
Start with clean, dry hair that is straight or lightly styled.  Comb your hair thoroughly to remove tangles. To cut the bangs, gather all your hair into a ponytail of the desired length. Hold the ponytail firmly and cut straight  in one clean cut. For more precise results, use professional scissors instead of regular scissors.

Layering:
Start with clean, dry hair  styled as usual. Divide the hair into several sections according to the number of layers you want.  Comb each section straight and hold it between your fingers  where you want to create the layer.  Cut the hair under your fingers diagonally to create a gradual layering. Repeat this process for each section, making sure the angle and length of the layers are consistent.

Face Framing:
Start with clean, dry hair styled to your liking. Identify the front sections of your hair that frame your face.  Comb the previous sections forward.  Hold the hair between your fingers at the desired length and angle  for a face-framing effect. Secure the hair under your fingers and cut diagonally to create a soft face-framing shape.  Repeat this process for both sides, ensuring symmetry.

Bangs / Fringe:
Start with clean, dry hair styled as usual. Comb your bangs/fringe straight across your forehead.  Hold the bangs/fringes at the desired length between your fingers. Cut the hair under your fingers straight lengthwise or at a slight angle, depending on the style you want. Avoid cutting them too short at first and make small adjustments as needed.
